The CRDSS Board is pleased to announce the continuation of our relationship with the Centre County YMCA. Individuals with Down syndrome plus a family member or caregiver are granted free access to any of the Centre County YMCA facilities. However, new this year, anyone looking to take advantage of this opportunity must submit their name and date of birth in order for the YMCA to conduct a brief background check. The YMCA now requires this of everyone using their facilities The process is outlined below. We are thankful the YMCA continues to provide us this extraordinary benefit.

1) Anyone interested in taking advantage of this benefit must submit name, date of birth, and contact phone number to: treasurer@centrecountydownsyndrome.org. We need this information for anyone using this service (individual with DS, family members, guardians, etc).

2) The CRDSS board will send the list to the YMCA in order for a basic background check to be conducted.

3) The YMCA will contact you directly if there is an issue with the background check.

4) Individuals walk in and use any Centre County YMCA facility. They will not issue us membership cards. The front desk staff will swipe you in at each facility.
